Godfrey was born in Toronto, Canada on November 11, 1978.  He and his family (parents Godfrey and Gloria and younger brothers John and Jay) moved to the Chicagoland area when he was 8 and graduated from Elk Grove High School in 1996.  He played the trumpet and pursued a Music Education degree at Bethel University in Minnesota. After spending a summer in Mississippi working with at-risk kids and leading the youth group at Northwest Filipino Baptist Church in Illinois, he soon heard and followed the call to become a youth pastor. Godfrey graduated with a Masters in Divinity from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. In 2005, he was ordained with Converge/Baptist General Conference. He has been involved in youth ministry for over 10 years and is a third generation pastor. Aware of his call to disciple the next generation, he has been involved with Regeneration Ministries and has been a member of the National Youth Task Force for Converge. Godfrey has led and brought students on missions trips that include helping with Hurricane Katrina clean-up (Biloxi, Mississippi), ministering to homeless children (Long Beach), as well as several missions trips to the Philippines. In March 2007, he married Corinth and soon afterwards moved to Orange County, CA to minister to the middle school, high school, and college/young adult groups at Woodbridge Community Church.  In his free time, he enjoys traveling and playing basketball and is an avid fan of jazz and classical music. He also enjoys teaching his daughter how to play basketball during her toddler gym classes and cooking/baking/trying out new foods with his wife. His family and friends lovingly call him the human jukebox as he can pretty much sing and play any song out there. Godfrey and Corinth have one daughter, Charissa Faith, and their second baby is due August 5, 2011.
